Thank You

Our meeting today to hear our Sheriff Justin Smith speak on Threats to American Homeland went extremely well. The Sheriff talked for about 35 minutes and then answered questions for another 50 minutes. He did a great job and was thanked by all those attending. The weather cooperated with sunshine and a few clouds. Cold but no snow! We want to thank all of you that came. By best count, we had 136 people.

Dear William,

“Why should I vote for you?” Its a good question, & hopefully one you’ve been asking of the candidates for Colorado State GOP offices lately.  I have a lengthy list of answers to the question but let me present just a few to you here now.

Of the candidates in the race for Vice Chairman only I:

 #1 – Bring a national profile to the Colorado GOP.

Patriots, the battle for our second Senate seat (Michael Bennet, 2016) is not going to be a rollover. As we’ve seen with “The Blueprint“, the left specifically targeted Colorado & we continue to be in their cross-hairs. We’ve been the target of an onslaught. I penned a  column about this, in 2013 that’s as true today as then, I hope you’ll take a moment to read it:

Unseating Senator Bennet will require combating this level of attention from the left. I’m no big shot but do have some connections. Allen West, C.L. Bryant, Alveda King, Kcarl Smith, Niger Innis – all in my speed dial. Those connections could come in handy one day as we try to knock Bennet off. The bully pulpit of being a nationally-known pundit adds another dimension of attention I’m able to bring to Colorado politics. We added this photo album to the campaign Facebook just the other day, check it out.

#2 – Sizable social media following & new media experience.  New media is a must in today’s day & age. Voter attention span -especially younger voters/Millennials- is extremely brief. To capture attention today we must be adept at communicating via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, etc. Of the players in this race I come in the door with an active Youtube channel, Twitter following, multiple Facebook pages, thousands of newsletter recipients. Through these we can can broadcast our message to tens & tens of thousands of eyeballs with a single click of a mouse.

We cannot effectively reach Millenials without a solid social media presence.  My analysis, thoughts, writings & videos are viewed by thousands; from this the state will immediately benefit. Anyone else in the race already on top of this?

#3 – Proven support of both Republican AND Liberty/Tea Party groups through out the state. Who else in this race got in their car & drove 5 hours (each way) in order to support Liberty/Tea Party Coloradans on the western slope? In May of 2014 an amazing group of patriots from Mesa County put on their annual Freedom Rally in Grand Junction. They contacted me & said, “Will you come keynote our rally this year?” I said, “I’ll be there!” And so got up at 0-dark-30 and rolled thru the I-70 tunnel, 300+ miles each way, delivered a rousing message (so I was told), met folks, talked about local issues, drank, ate & supported those patriots at a fantastic event that went on all day. Music, hotdogs, vendors, American flags, babies,…everything. Looked for them all day; never saw a soul from state party leadership nor anyone else who now wants to be your State Vice Chair. Not being mean; discussing facts. And not just the Grand Junction Freedom Rally, I’ve been all over the state attending your functions for years. With your support on March 14th in Castle Rock and as Vice Chair for the next two years I’ll be able to spend even more time traveling our great state, getting out to your events and working with you face-to-face on growing Republican voter numbers. Just put this together:

Ignorance of Islam is Islam’s greatest weapon. 

Cicero reminds us that to be ignorant of what happened before we were born, is to remain a child forever.  Obama recently said: “Here in America, Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding.  Generations of Muslim immigrants came here and went to work as farmers and merchants and factory workers, helped to lay railroads and to build up America”. Considering these statements, we must remember that only honest knowledge of historical facts will result in truth.

There is very little information on Muslim immigrants serving as farmers and merchants, but there is evidence that there may have been hundreds of Muslims in the United States in 1776—imported as slaves from areas of Africa where Islam slave markets flourished. There is no evidence that the Founders were aware of the religious convictions of their slaves. However it is clear that the Founding Fathers thought about the relationship of Islam to the new nation and were prepared to make a place for it in the new Republic because that is what Christianity and the Constitution teaches.

Shortly after America’s founding, the United States was dragged into the affairs of the Islamic world by an escalating series of unprovoked attacks on Americans by Muslim pirates, the terrorists of the era.  These Muslims looted American ships and captured American sailors, holding them for ransom or selling them as slaves.  The Muslim slave market had been flourishing for centuries and they captured and sold thousands and thousands of Europeans and sold them as slaves.  Modern historians often overlook the magnitude of white enslavement by Africans that pre-dates the black African transatlantic slave trade. According to a study by Ohio State University history Professor Robert Davis and detailed in his book Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy, 1500-1800 about 1.25 million Europeans were captured by the Muslim Barbary pirates and sold as slaves in North Africa between the 16th and 19th centuries. This number relates to the slave trade in Tunis, Algiers and Tripoli alone.  These numbers do not include the European people which were enslaved by Morocco and by other raiders and traders of the Mediterranean coast, such as the Ottoman Empire.  Captives from the Black Sea area appear to have been much larger. A compilation of statistics and historic estimates indicates that about 2 million Russians, Ukrainians and Poles were seized from 1468 to 1694. Additionally there were slaves from the Caucasus obtained by a mixture of raiding and trading. Sixteenth and seventeenth century customs statistics suggest that Istanbul’s white slave market from the Black Sea area alone totaled around 2.5 million from 1450 to 1700. The Muslim slave traders were also very active in Africa for many years.  Historians estimate that between 10-18 million Africans were enslaved by the these slave traders between 650-1900.

The continued attacks on American ships lead to two wars with the Muslim raiders.  The First Barbary War (1801–1805), also known as the Tripolitan War or the Barbary Coast War, was the first of two wars fought between the United States and the Northwest African Muslim States known collectively as the Barbary States. These were the Ottoman provinces of Tripoli, Algiers, and Tunis, which were enjoying independence, as well as the independent Muslim Sultanate of Morocco. The war was fought because U.S. President Thomas Jefferson refused to pay the high tributes, or protection money demanded by the Barbary States and because they were seizing American merchant ships and enslaving the crews for high ransoms or to be sold in the slave markets. It was the first military conflict authorized by Congress that the United States fought on foreign land and seas

Jefferson then wrote a letter to John Jay that read: “The Muslim Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman [Muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.” This is based upon the Qur’an’s teaching from Surah 47:4

Jefferson believed that wisdom could be “gleaned” from the Muslim Quran.  At the time Jefferson owned and studied the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.  It was not until the second war with Algiers, in 1815, that naval victories by the U.S. Navy and victories on the shores of Tripoli by U.S. Marines led to treaties ending all tribute payments by the United States.

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.  >  Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:  >  1. America is capitalist and greedy – yet half of the population is subsidized.  >  2. Half of the population is subsidized – yet they think they are victims.  >  3. They think they are victims – yet their representatives run the government.  >  4. Their representatives run the government – yet the poor keep getting poorer.  >  5. The poor keep getting poorer – yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.  >  6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about – yet they want    America to be more like those other countries.  >    > Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.  >  Makes you wonder who is doing the math.  >    > These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:  >  1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.  >  Funny how that works.  And here’s another one worth considering…  >  2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money.  But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money!What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t.  >  Think about it…..and Last but not least:  >  3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free– if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending–if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained–we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!

They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
